As a girl in Alberta, designer Adrinna Hardy dreamt about travel and adventure in far flung places. As soon as she was able, she boarded a plane and spent a decade living and working all over Europe. It was there she came across her first wax seals. Initially drawn to their symbolism and meaning, she quickly realized that each seal was also a miniature work of art in its own right. Over time she built a collection of thousands of rare and beautiful antique seals which she proudly displays in her studio.
Her other great joy in life is making Jewelry. While travelling in Northern Thailand, on a whim, she took the opportunity to train with a master goldsmith. At the intersection of her passions - collecting wax seals and goldsmithing - is Plum and Posey.

A tiny bee drinks the nectar of the sweet rose; without one, the other would not exist. Roses are emblematic of a sweet & true love, while the bee implies industry and sweet rewards. The French inscription “La douceur m’attire” translates as “sweetness attracts me”.

Crux mihi anchora {the cross is my anchor}. Handcrafted in solid sterling silver using the impression of a 19th century British wax seal, the anchored cross or mariner's cross is a stylized cross in the shape of an anchor. The cross implies faith while the anchor remains firm and steady in stormy seas and represents well-grounded hope. A weighty piece with a beautifully smooth finish.

“ Bend, don't break “ is the translation of “ Mieux vaut rompre que plier “ from Aesop's fable of 'the oak and the reeds'. Nature shows us that it's better to bend than break.
An oak and reed were arguing about their strength. A strong wind came up and the reed avoided being uprooted by bending and moving with the gusts. The oak stood firm and was torn up by the roots.

The eye of Providence ~ May it watch over you. Surrounded by rays of light, the Eye of Providence symbolizes protection, salvation and the blessings of a higher power. Crafted from the impression of a French wax seal dating to the early 19th century.
